She opened up her purse as she pulled out her last cigarette. "Fuck." She groaned. She lit it, smiling and looking at the men stripping in front of her. "I want Chip and Dale!" Her friend winked at the men, Saturday was always girls night for Barbara and her friends. "Barbie look at the guy!" screamed her other friend. Barbie looked at the male stripper, she laughed but felt her heart sink as she finished her drink and cigarette. "Mandy, Tish, I'm going home, I'm sick." she groaned. Mandy flipped her short brown hair out of her dark green eyes and waved bye. Tish grunted, "You always say that when we come here. Stay, have some fun for once, buzz kill!" Tish had tied up her blonde hair into a messy bun and her brown eyes were glued to Barbara's. Barbie (Barbara) groaned, "I mean it this time! I'll stay next time." she shouted through the blaring music and walked out of Chip and Dale's. Barbara collapsed into her car, composed herself, and sent herself to her apartment.

Katiya Carpenter was born and raised in a perfectly small beach town. She spent her summers with the well-off "summer kids" and her best friends, she worked at the diner, and was top of her class. Life was good, until it wasn't. Eventually, Kate finds herself cheated on and unsure of her future. Until the Michaels move into town for the summer. And it might just happen that Jackson Michaels is exactly what she needs. ----------- I turned back to my friends, my eyes instantly running into Jack's. He was standing in front of the bleachers with Hendricks and a few other guys, talking to Genny. Jack was staring at me, as soon as I turned he flipped his head the other way. But it was too late. "Jack, right?" I said, smiling and getting his attention. "Yeah. You're Katiya, Kate." He gave me a dazzling smile. It made me smile back at him. "I mean, most people just pick one of the options, not both." He chuckled a little and took a step towards me. "Both is good. Who are you here to see?" He asked, looking around, and past me. "Nobody in particular." I seemed to say easily, even though I was in fact, here to watch Jason and my dad. "I mean, everyone. I know a lot of people. Small town." I tried to correct myself immediately, and I noticed Hannah holding back laughter as I stumbled on my words. "Gotcha." He said, still smiling wide and taking a glance back at the field. "Good to see you again, Katiya Kate." This time he said it as if it were one word. It made me smile on the inside. He turned and jogged back towards his team. I was such an idiot.
