The Valkyrie; The Beginning

Persephone Sims was like any other normal kid, quirky, awkward, and energetic. She was the athletic pupil of Coach at Arcadia Oaks High, despised by Ms. Janeth for her lack of enthusiasm for plays and art, ignored by Mr. Strickler and Senor Uhl... She never thought she would be chosen for better things other than sports, much less to become a Griffin Rider, or 'Valkyrie'.
Turns out she is the descendant of an ancient clan of women who fought alongside trolls, yes trolls, and rode majestic griffins. Well after the battle of Killahead, it was made clear that the Valkyrie and their griffins were going extinct. Persephone is one of the last descendants of the few Valkyrie and has been chosen by Phobos, the last griffin.
