CONTENT WARNING: This story centers around DEPRESSION, and I have attempted to make it look quite realistic. And while it's not written yet, this story will also depict SUICIDE, and in general, have a rather emotional ending. If you are uncomfortable with these topics, you do not have to read this story. Please take care of your mental health. The fabled Disney Vault. We may remember it from the advertisements on Disney DVDs, but it held a secret we wouldn't know of for a long time. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit escapes the Disney Vault with the help of the famous Mickey Mouse but soon comes to wish things had stayed the same. A whole host of complex negative emotions wash over the rabbit, but he refuses to show anything but a smile. I, of course, do not own Oswald, Mickey, or any Disney characters. This is purely a fanmade work and no copyright infringement is intended. Cover drawn by me, I'm no artist.

Mickey Mouse is living the good life as the king of the Disney universe and the most famous toon in the world, but everything turns completely upside-down for him when he discovers a shocking family secret: He has a half-brother! Oswald the Lucky Rabbit has been forgotten for nearly eighty years after being taken away from Walt Disney just before Mickey was born. Now he was back, and he wasn't too keen on having a popular and obnoxious mouse for a younger brother, especially when that brother happened to be in a similar position that used to be his when he was a star. Popularity and power become subjects of debate as these two characters come together in a complicated relationship that their father would've probably not wanted to see. They just had to decide if they wanted to make it work and accept each other for who they were or let their ego get the best of them and possibly cause a war to break out in the world of Disney. 2/20/2022: #1 in oswaldtheluckyrabbit 8/26/2022: #1 in mickeymouse
