Life's going pretty fucking great for Joe Alwyn. He's fresh out of drama school and the lead in a new Ang Lee movie. He's exploring the States for the first time, getting drunk with his mates when he meets her....THE girl of his dreams. Just one problem: she's Taylor fucking Swift. Is pursuing her even worth it?
This story told from Joe's perspective, touches on the Sunset and Vine Night™, the Met Gala, and the beginning stages of Taylor and Joe's relationship amidst the dumpster-fire year that 2016 was for Taylor.
Like all my stories, I tried to make this one as accurate as possible, referencing song lyrics, Taylor and Joe spottings, interview quotes, etc. At the end of the day, I'm still a swiftie head-cannoning lol, so please take everything written with a grain of salt. The Cruelest Summer
To say Summer 2016 was monumental for Taylor would be a massive understatement. She met the love of her life, feuded with pop culture's biggest power couple, ended two highly publicized romances, dismantled her "squad", and dealt with lots of family drama. It's no wonder so many songs in her discography touch upon these themes. This story focuses on Taylor and Joe's love story but has other plot points. I tried to make it as accurate as possible, referencing song lyrics, things Tay/Joe have said in interviews, and known Taylor sightings.
