29 year old Detective Phoenix Laiyne is very close to loosing her job. Ever since she lost the big case against Black Shadow, a top illusionists who has been using his skills to scam and murder high class business men, she hasn't been called to help in on the other big jobs. Phoenix is ready to quit before she faces the humiliation of being fired and go back to doing police work in the Atlanta police department. But opportunity comes knocking at her door when a priest in her town is murdered and the only person who can help get close to the townsfolk and crack the case is her. That can lead Laiyne to her big break and possibly get her promoted to being an Agent. Unfortunately someone has another idea. The question is who? And why?

This book is about a young witch, who was always taught ever since she was a kid, to be scared of Vampires. Vampires and witches have been enemy's for centuries. The young witch Phoenix observed a certain vampire for years, who was torturing the innocent. She was not obeying the rules. When being a vampire, you only are allowed to feed on the ones who murder. If a human has murdered someone, then they deserve to die themselves. So the society of the supernatural made the rule to only feed on the guilty. The witches in this society are supposed to protect the humans of the innocent and keep the vampires and werewolves in line. Only because of this the vampire's dislike the witches and now there is a war between them. Phoenix is trying to do her job and protect the innocent, only this certain vampire has gone on a killing spree, and won't stop. And definitely doesn't care what some little old witch says, and every time she tries to kill her she threatens to kill her family, starting with her mother. While reading this book you will learn, that witches were chosen to protect because even though vampires have the power to kill, witches are stronger. And phoenix will learn the ups and downs of a vampire and also learn to reunite both sides in order to defeat a common enemy. The only question is will she survive this nightmare.

It ended up being extremely good! It's about a cop (Jade) tried to kick an old man out of his house. When the man refuses, a series of terrible events take place. Jade and her work buddy (Rick) investigates the scene. The old man gave Jade a call before he died. The old mans last living family members pass away. Is the family cursed?
