29 year old Detective Phoenix Laiyne is very close to loosing her job. Ever since she lost the big case against Black Shadow, a top illusionists  who has been using his skills to scam and murder high class business men, she hasn't been called to help in on the other big jobs. Phoenix is ready to quit before she faces the humiliation of being fired and go back to doing police work  in the Atlanta police department. But opportunity comes knocking at her door when a priest in her town is murdered and the only person who can help get close to the townsfolk and crack the case is her. Maggie must not only come to believe in all that she has heard, including that she’s one of these mythical creatures from stories, but also learn how to wield her power to face the creatures that would destroy both worlds Maggie has come to know of. While doing this, Maggie builds friendships she’s never had, must rise above her own self doubt, and quite possibly learn what it means to fall in love.
