Subject 49: Type X

My name is Amaya, and I am a child of the apocalypses.
The apocalypse was full of many horrible losses. I always thought that it would have been a gigantic solar flare from the sun or the world being flooded because of global warming. Instead, it was just like in the movies. A Zombie apocalypse. The virus, virus Z, started in a small facility where the government was doing experiments on the new chemical recently found. A chemical called Eudaimonium. This chemical was given its name based off the Greek word Eudaimonia, which more commonly means human florishmeant. It was given this name after scientists discovered the miracle that the chemical provided. It could enhance the stamina of a person so they could work more hours on farms, in hospitals and much more.
I was only a child when the apocalypse ended. My parents were both relieved that I didn't have to go through the horror of it all. I was born in a broken down cottage, miles away from my parents home town. They had nowhere to go after the final horde of Zombies in the area tore everything apart. We had been in the cottage for weeks with barely any food or water to survive on when we were found. I was barely holding onto life when a soldier used the last of his medical supplies to save my life. Ever since then, my parents have been following the group, hoping that what they were saying was true, that there was a safe zone from everything else in this wretched world.
