What they don't show is that the husband ends up cheating on the loving wife, moving out with his new girlfriend and divorcing the wife.

On one wine induced night, she decided she's going to have the perfect revenge. Not murder him, Steven wasn't worth the jail time but she could do something else, something that would piss off Steven to no end.
She could fake date his biggest rival, Jace Marshal. And that is how she concocted the perfect revenge plan.
