But Lumine had never looked afraid. She was brave, confident, and resilient, and her bravery never faltered, not once. That was why she made such an entertaining opponent, why their fights exhilarated him beyond comprehension. But in the end, it wasn't by fighting that he managed to draw out the fear from her soul. She wasn't hurt, she wasn't in pain, she wasn't facing the threat of death. She was trapped. Trapped in close proximity with him. And that was when she finally became afraid. When he was close enough to touch her. When he was close enough to kiss her.
