"do we have to go to the bakery, peeta?" Katniss mutters. Peeta drags her up to the door and forces her in. "come on I have a surprise for you!" peeta whispers. Katniss and Peeta go in ,and peers gets down on one knee. "will you marry me miss Katniss Everdeen?" "oh of course!!" Katniss screams and kisses him. Peeta, then grabs her hand and rushes outside. Katniss while holding Peeta's hand runs up to Gale's door. katniss's knocks and his door and he emerges out. "hey catnip what's up?" "ME AND PEETA ARE ENGAGED!! FOR REAL THIS TIME!!" Katniss sceams. all of a sudden Gale
jumps on Peeta trying to strangle him. "no gale get off of him!!!" Katniss says. Peeta gets gale in his grip and throws him down on the ground. "I'm gonna be the lucky man to marry Katniss not you baker boy!" gale struggles and gets free. Katniss unexpectedly smacks both men in the face for there stupid behavior. "

We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination.
