"When was the last time you saw him?"

"The day he left." He left when he was fourteen, and I was eleven. He instantly became a star and forgot all about me.

"I'm gonna miss you, Jayson."

"I'll miss you too, Oakley."

"You're gonna be famous though!"

"I hope so. But I won't get to see you as much anymore." 

"We can text each other once I get a phone."

"Yeah and we can call each other too. It's only an hour away, I'll come visit my best friend all the time."

"Me?"

"Yes, Oakley, you."

"When you're famous you can come see me at school and make everyone jealous!" 

He laughed. "Yeah, if I become famous I will."

"Pinky Promise?"

"Pinky Promise."

We locked pinkies.

"I have to go now. I'll miss you, Oaks." He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a tight hug.

"I'll miss you too, Jays." 

He let me go and placed his lips on my forehead. 

"What was that?" My cheeks were flushed red.

He smiled mischievously. "A goodbye kiss."

"Goodbye Jayson."

"Goodbye Oakley."
