At some point in time supernatural beings hid in the shadows unknown to man. Humans decided the fate of the world, and ruled countries and their own freedoms. For Makena humans are on the bottom, in charge of nothing.
In the time of Dynasties, five rule over the world Makena knows. Living out of place in the Human Dynasty, Makena yearns for more power and purpose. From the time she learned about the Ceremony she vowed to do anything to be one of the chosen picked by the Vampirik King to undergo the Change. Even if it meant using her gift to make him choose her.
When an unexpected turn of events happen during the Ceremony Makena rethinks her life decisions and discovers a new power within her with the help of Starke.
Starke, a Beskytter Wolf kidnaps Makena from the Ceremony when he sees the gifts she has and becomes curious about her. Together they find a new purpose for themselves in regards to ending the reign the Vampiriks have over the other Dynasties. Makena learns to use her gifts for good, and Starke helps her learn to become a better person for herself and others.
