The First Love of Bucky Barnes

Brooklyn, November 1935. Bucky and Steve are staking out the locker of the newest girl in George Washington High School. Bucky knows her name is Charlotte and that she is a tall redhead. What he doesn't know is that in the next six months she will mean everything to him. Before she leaves in April, for Hawaii where her Navy father is set to assume a command post, they will make a decision that they hope will keep them together, forever.

England, 1944. Charley, as her friends call her, is a pilot in the WASPs, Women's Airforce Service Pilots, ferrying aircraft over the Atlantic for use in the war effort. One night, in a pub where the Howling Commandos are celebrating another successful raid, she comes face to face with the former love of her life, Sergeant Bucky Barnes. Picking up where they left off, they make plans to marry and be together like they always planned.

United States, 2014-2026. Charley has been dead for many years but her diary and the letters she sent to Bucky Barnes inspires her look-alike granddaughter Charlotte to search out Steve Rogers. When Steve reveals Bucky is still alive Charlotte tries to find him. Already attracted to him based on Bucky's letters to Charley, Charlotte attempts to forge a connection with the still handsome but troubled Avenger.

Based on MCU characters and using actual events and organizations as a backdrop, this multi-year romance explores the depth of Bucky's first love and how those memories may allow him to love fully and completely once again.
