The bad guy is always wearing a black cape so you always know who he is. Then you grow up and you realize that Prince Charming is not as easy to find as you thought. You realize the bad guy is not wearing a black cape and he's not easy to spot; he's really funny, and he makes you laugh, and he has perfect hair." ~Taylor Swift When Alana was younger, she lived and breathed fairy tales. Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel, she knew them all. She had always been hopeful to have a fairy tale of her own. As she grew older she hit the truth of reality. Fairy tales don't ever come true. Although there is one boy who can change her mind, the only question is will her choose to? Buckle down for a novel with many flips and twist as Alana continues on her journey in high school to find a Prince Charming. Magic? Nope. Hidden towns? Definitely not. Sexy mentors? Well.... oh, go on then. One minute, I'm stacking shelves, and the next, I'm whisked away to some mad place in the middle of the woods, being told I have powers. Sounds like a bad acid trip, right, but it turns out there's a lot of things that have been hiding in plain sight. Faye was just minding her own business until she bumped into a group of strangers on a night out. They open her eyes up to a whole new world full of magic and take her to the place she is to call home from then on, the compound. There are compounds all over the world hidden from the regular human eye. When she arrives, her life is full of drama, trying to learn about her gifts, make new friends, and simply just stay alive. Her mentor is supposed to be there to help her through things, but will he make her life easier or more complicated? My guess is the latter, but he is so gorgeous that a little complication is a small sacrifice to make. Dane just wants to get left alone. Ever since losing his brother, he's not been quite the same. Faye is forced upon him, and he has to try and train the new girl with a smile on his face. Easier said than done...
