When Prince Evarian Destrius of Dolce is kidnapped by a murderous crew of pirates, with no one but himself to turn to, he is lost. His family, on the mainland, was the only thing that he knew, but this new turn of events altered his reality, forcing him to learn about a world so very different from his own. Also, how the annoying, stupid, horrifying and vile Captain of the crew could be the one thing that could ground Evan on a sea of endless waves, he couldn't seem understand.

Now Gregor is stranded in a dimension not his own without magic. Tristan agrees to help him get home, the least he could do because it was mostly his fault (and totally not because he has a crush on Gregor, or because of Gregor's compulsion magic or because he kissed him.) But then everything goes wrong when they get attacked by fire elementals who work for the demon Earl Alfred of Aleman who is also after Gregor's magic. The elemental manages to steal the shadow and now Gregor and Tristan must travel through different dimensions to get the shadow back and slip the Earl and his henchmen in the process.
