When a new alpha is named, the Beta's Trials must commence. Four candidates from each of the sixteen packs compete to determine who will be the next beta of a pack. Lady Adira, niece of the king, is one of the four wolves selected to represent the Ruby pack. Faced with the chauvinistic views of a patriarchal society, she powers through in an effort to prove to all of the wolves in the world that she is strong and fully capable of filling the role for the Diamond pack Beta. 

However, with it being the role of the Diamond pack to protect the royal family, she is met with extreme criticism. Against all odds, she earns her place as Alpha Konrad's beta, only to discover that the two of them are actually mates.

As they start to begin to navigate the trials of being mates and pack colleagues, strange things begin to happen in the kingdom. Bodies are showing up drained of blood, yet without any puncture wounds. These events are eerily similar to the events that took place many years ago; when the queen was murdered.All Rights Reserved
