Finley and Axtin knew that their friend Lizzie was always a little kooky. She was the kind of girl to frame her best friend just to steal candy or to mildly poison herself to get out of going to class. The three probably wouldn't be friends at all if she hadn't told them about the game she'd been working on for the past two years. Agreeing to play-test her game might have been one of the worst decisions of the two boys' lives, as they learn when a large, skeletal hand juts out of the computer screen.
With Lizzie's fantasy world leaking into the real world, Finley and Axtin have a choice: join Lizzie in ruling over the brand new Earth, or assisting the Hero and action-girl deuteragonist Skylar Raines in finishing the playthrough of Cave's Peak.
