Every year a group of kids who are to turn 18 are chosen at random to be sent out of the safe haven of their town and into the woods to survive on their own. The council says it to prevent the overpopulation of the town as that would result in there not being enough resources. But is that the real reason? And more importantly will Cora and the others survive the dangers of the forest?
