"I guess the real question is how did we get here?"
The answer takes place before and after X and Y find themselves stranded on this planet. As X tells her story, she goes back and forth between the past and the future. How did they fall in love? How did they fall out of love? 
What days changed the world? Day 606? Day -1825? Before or after the war? Both?
