hope may has always hated her adopted and abused brother Jake Jones ever since her father James brought him home but after they move from new York to texas they start getting closer eventually to the point of jake protecting hope and hope getting jealous when she sees jake talking to his "girlfriend". Their relationship starts to get stronger but thinking he'll turn out like his dad jake backs away and little does jake know him and hope aren't that different.
