Beyond sea and storm

They fought for almost two years until finally acknowledging the fact that all is lost. Even if they manage to seal Kaguya and Zetsu, what else is there left in the rotten world? There were only about twenty shinobi left, most of whom are his precious people from Konoha. No civilians survived when the rabbit goddess started targeting the villages first after what was left of the initial Shinobi Alliance fled. Naruto is just so tired. Being everyone's pillar of hope has taken its toll and he knows his inner circle has noticed so when the time-space seal has finally been made and the chakra given, all Kakashi, Sakura, Sasuke, Shikamaru and Obito told him was:

"Kick ass. And Naruto? This time, put yourself first before anyone else."

And so Naruto left the part of him that dreamed of becoming Hokage, was always optimistic and did everything and anything just to be acknowledged by everyone else in the Before and the Child of the Prophecy rises once more.
