Evil Ex-or Corex-has created a problem in Season 8. A respawn glitch-or something they've dubbed the Child's Curse. Each time a hermit dies or server hops back into Hermitcraft, they're placed between the ages of 4-8. This creates some trust problems between hermits, amplifies pain from Last Life, and takes quite the toll mentally on Xisuma as once again he has to clean up his brother's messes. 
Of course, there's always plus sides. Like some of the hermits having tons of fun playing as kids! And lots more chaos! 
At the end of the day though, it's still a problem, and some people don't know how to handle problems.

Well... You'll have to find out. This is the origin of how Hermitcraft came to be. Just remember-- Every end of a story is a new beginning for another. - Some information before you start the story: - This story takes place before Hermitcraft officially started, so maybe 7-8 years ago or so. - Despite this, though, the world is set in 1.13/1.14. - If you die, it's permanent. There are no respawn mechanisms. - The backstories for each character are based around events that happened in Season 6, which might not be relevant in seasons to come. - The total word count for this story is 49,001. It was originally published on October 16, 2019. - I try to mention each Hermit at least once, but I might have missed some. DISCLAIMER: This book does hint at a bit of shipping. When Xisumavoid, the admin of Hermitcraft, is warned that a cult known as the Silver Sun is planning on invading his server, he must do everything he can to prevent the leader of the cult from slipping their influence into Hermitcraft. If they do, the Silver Sun will take hold, and their server could be lost to the watcher's control. Everything is on the line, as the hermits must endure the power of the Silver Sun, which only grows stronger every day. The past will be revealed. The present will be treacherous. The future will be changed. Either the hermits stand up and fight. Or they lose it all.

"grian! that's grian!" the hermits who fled to find their youngest soon faced a replica of the shopping district. it was clearly deserted, yet somehow full of life. the missing hermit who they saw on a random window sill lay his head on a table, in each seat was an armour stand with different positions and different heads. this was his life for over 3 years. A swirling, silver portal appears in the middle of spawn. Bedrock begins to form under it, fading into tuff and then to grass. A single block of obsidian rises out of the middle of the circle, its edges gaining the blue tint of a diamond as it turns into an enchanting table. I look over at Notch. He looks pleased with the events, like something he planned is falling perfectly into place. Did you set this up? I mouth at him. He nods, his slight smile breaking out into a bright but ghostly grin. "I need to make sure that previous arrangements to travel to Hermitcraft are still in place," Notch begins. "To do so, I must travel away for a few weeks. In the meantime, you will be completing your last challenge. I like to call it 'Last Life'." This is the sequel to Acrylic Waves! If you haven't read it yet, I strongly suggest you do before this so it actually makes a little bit of sense! Set in S8 and Last Life! Slap me in the comments, I dare you.
