Evil Ex-or Corex-has created a problem in Season 8. A respawn glitch-or something they've dubbed the Child's Curse. Each time a hermit dies or server hops back into Hermitcraft, they're placed between the ages of 4-8. This creates some trust problems between hermits, amplifies pain from Last Life, and takes quite the toll mentally on Xisuma as once again he has to clean up his brother's messes. 
Of course, there's always plus sides. Like some of the hermits having tons of fun playing as kids! And lots more chaos! 
At the end of the day though, it's still a problem, and some people don't know how to handle problems.

A swirling, silver portal appears in the middle of spawn. Bedrock begins to form under it, fading into tuff and then to grass. A single block of obsidian rises out of the middle of the circle, its edges gaining the blue tint of a diamond as it turns into an enchanting table. I look over at Notch. He looks pleased with the events, like something he planned is falling perfectly into place. Did you set this up? I mouth at him. He nods, his slight smile breaking out into a bright but ghostly grin. "I need to make sure that previous arrangements to travel to Hermitcraft are still in place," Notch begins. "To do so, I must travel away for a few weeks. In the meantime, you will be completing your last challenge. I like to call it 'Last Life'." This is the sequel to Acrylic Waves! If you haven't read it yet, I strongly suggest you do before this so it actually makes a little bit of sense! Set in S8 and Last Life! Slap me in the comments, I dare you. There are no respawn mechanisms. - The backstories for each character are based around events that happened in Season 6, which might not be relevant in seasons to come. - The total word count for this story is 49,001. It was originally published on October 16, 2019. - I try to mention each Hermit at least once, but I might have missed some. DISCLAIMER: This book does hint at a bit of shipping. I write ships based on the Hermits' Minecraft personas and not their actual IRL selves. None of this content is meant to offend anyone, it's purely a writing hobby. When Xisumavoid, the admin of Hermitcraft, is warned that a cult known as the Silver Sun is planning on invading his server, he must do everything he can to prevent the leader of the cult from slipping their influence into Hermitcraft. If they do, the Silver Sun will take hold, and their server could be lost to the watcher's control. Everything is on the line, as the hermits must endure the power of the Silver Sun, which only grows stronger every day. The past will be revealed. The present will be treacherous. The future will be changed. Either the hermits stand up and fight. Or they lose it all.

Awaken (Hermitcraft Fanfiction) by JadedSundragon

We must focus on guiding the Magic; not controlling it. For it is through controlling it we allow it to control ourselves. Time between dimensions is in a constant state of flux. There is no way of saying how many years have passed, nor how many will. However, the saying remains the same: "Yesterday was history, Tomorrow is a mystery, But today is a gift. That is why it is called the present." =+=+=+= This is another Hermitcraft fanfiction, set in a season eight/nine AU (Evolution-EmpiresS1-HCS8-HCS9-Watcher AU). I don't own any of the characters; they belong to the Hermits as their Minecraft Personas. This book also sporadically features Evolution and Empires SMP characters. Pearl is the main character, but there are a few backstories followed as well. The first part of the chapter will always be Pearl, and the second a backstory (with a few exceptions when the chapter gets extra-long). Answer the chapter questions if you feel like it, even if you live in the mysterious future. I don't ship. I'm not certain about the hermit preferences, so I'd prefer to leave that to them and portray all of them as amazing friends (which they are). =+=+=+= There will be angst to satisfy your hunger.
