Wren Greywood just moved to a new school in Ivy Hollow, Pennsylvania. Away from her dad, her only friend, and away from the city. She and her mom had to leave Chicago because of Wren's allergy to iron. Also because they couldn't afford Wren's medicine. And I guess because of Wren's dad being an abusive ass. As Wren warms up to the new school things begin to change more drastically then they had before. Before she could keep it a secret; bribing the doctor to say she simply could be near iron because she was allergic. Not a total lie but still a lie she couldn't tell herself. Literally couldn't. She hadn't known what was happening until a boy is murdered in the forest, his eyes cut out. Another murder happens to a girl whose skin was scraped clean from her body, only this time in the shady part of the forest. As Wren starts to realize the war that is raging in Ivy Hollow she also realizes that she, a weird boy with a black scar, and a boy named Daniel Shade are in the middle.
