August Summers is a Midwestern teenager who never thought she would see the bright lights. After a local producer found an unreleased song, she fell right into place with the upcoming band Getaway Car. She loves the thrill. She loves the fans. She loves her band mates. Wes Carter is focused on the deep rivalry between the two bands. Although Getaway Car is only supposed to be their opener, they are starting to gain more attention. Wes built his band Remember When from the ground up, so nothing annoys him more than when bassists August Summers becomes his new competition, and distraction. He wants to be the better singer, better bassist, and better band. And he will do whatever it takes. 

While trying to balance the biggest tour of their lives with their past traumas and ghosts, the two quickly begin to hate each other.
