I haven't always been so ugly, well not since middle school. The first time anyone were to call me ugly came from my own father. My father, I would like to say has quite an attitude and ended up being born into a perfectionistic family and grow up around single-minded people, he also became single minded. I had always been beautiful, the definition of perfect were my personality, image, and talent until I could not shift. The day Collins said to my face that I was ugly, that was the day I finally became ugly. Days turned weeks and insults turn slaps and some years rolled by and slaps become mental and physical abuse. Before anyone could stop to look at me, I already became a disgrace, a slave, a runt who couldn't speak or shift. To the elderly ones in the pack, I was a disgrace to my family, pack members and mate. To the kids at school plus my own siblings, I was just some weak kid that couldn't or wouldn't fight back. To myself, I was just a girl struggling to survive and just live a life that always seemed so far away, so I let them shout, kick and just abuse me that is the least I could do for been a disappointment.

My Mother Runs With Wolves

51 parts Complete

A genetically unique but emotionally lost teenager must figure out who she is within her mixed-up, warring world of Shifters and Wolfstalkers. ***** It wasn't Maddie's choice to be born a half-breed, half Shifter, half Wolfstalker -- a hunter of Shifters -- and it wasn't her choice to keep her identity a secret. But after trying to attend high school like any normal sixteen-year-old, things quickly spiral south when her Stalker uncle finds out about her and catapults her out of anonymity and into the awareness--or possibly the crosshairs--of The Order of the Wolfstalker. Maddie must think fast and figure out a way to keep herself and her family safe, or risk losing everything. Including her life. [[word count: 70,000-80,000 words]]
