The snow was cold.
Inej's eyes opened slowly as another snowflake landed on her face, gracing her cheek as cold and chilly as a gloved hand.
Tears.
If she could've screamed, yelled, hit, or thrown a knife at him, she would've. Kaz Brekker had more than some explaining to do. He was a goner. Inej would make sure of it.

This story takes place where the Shadow and Bone Netflix series left off and will be starring Kaz, Inej, and Jesper as they return to Ketterdam and face off new adventures. Debts to be paid, rivalry, emotions, and devious plans that will make the crows and Dirtyhands himself start to question even their closest allies.
That's the risk when you play poker; you either win or lose. There's no in-between.
And only few can balance the fine tightrope between the two without tumbling to their deaths.
