Although he does seem perfect, he is hiding a secret. He is on the road to death, from a rare eye disease, it's symptoms already taking hold of him.
She was an average person, trying her best to achieve better, and she was a nobody, so unlike him. She was so lost and then miraculously she found him, and their fates were entwined since that day.
