Hunter-a stormcloud-has been working at the "Greater Good" organization for a while, keeping fairly to himself. After a while, he catches the attention of his superior, Gabriel Updike, and finds that he partners with him more often than not. He doesn't mind-he can't really say no, can he?-he provides good company and seems to be oddly overprotective! He felt weird about it at first, but now he enjoys it. It feels nice to have someone care about you, does it not?
Meruem strives to reject his humanity, born with the premonition that he can never openly display emotion. Mara longs to regain her humanity, to once again succumb to her innermost feelings.
One destined to rule. One destined to complacency. Can their emotions break their chains of fate, or are their predestined paths already set in stone?
