World War II began on September 1, 1939, with the German invasion of Poland. Just two days later, Britain and France would also declare war on the German Reich. Just a little less than 1 year later, war would also be declared on the Soviet Union. Millions would go to war, but millions would give their lives. Is the death of millions really what they dearly wanted, each and every one of them?
Let us consider how individuals think about war, about the heroic deeds, the misdeeds, even the crimes. What does war trigger in someone?
And what about the journey as a whole? What about the beauty of the Polish fields, the deep forests of the Ardennes, the coast of Normandy, or the golden deserts of Libya? Wars have destroyed landscapes, no, lives, livelihoods and whole generations.
And now the old Reich is raising its eagles once again. How powerful the decision of a single war falls and the armies consent.
