The Best Kept Secret!
They say what's in the past keep it in the past but I wanted to know all about my past. It was things that I didn't know and that I wanted and needed to know! But my life turned upside down when my past is exactly what I should have left alone. Now if you ask me how it all began, I don't exactly remember but I know it started when I moved in with my grandma who I haven't met in all my twenty years of living. I have been in and out of foster homes since I can remember, living with families I knew nothing about. Being the outcast and them constantly asking me what's wrong because I simply did not speak. The only thing that kept me sane was my good grades throughout school. I got the satisfaction of doing the one thing that people kept telling me over and over I couldn't do. I stayed to myself and graduated high school with honors, getting a full-ride scholarship to any college of my choice. Of course, by having this accomplishment, it didn't make it any easier for me between my foster families. To them, I became the girl who was better than them. But I didn't care because when I turned twenty I finally got to start making my own choices. This is where I wonder if the first choice I made was the right one. The first choice I made was to go live off-campus with my grandmother during my first semester in college. I ask myself how could I be so stupid? But you will see just how stupid I was. Defying Fate
Please don't read this, I wrote it in middle school and it's really bad. I just don't want to delete it because some people might get mad at me ;-; Maybe someday I will rewrite it. "What kind of fairytale is this? Where's the happy ending?" The little girl, approximately 7 years old, asked her mother. "That's what I wanted to teach you May, you should know now, that life isn't always going to have a good end. Bad things are going to happen, and if you play them off and ignore them, it will only worsen," May's mother explained. May nodded slowly. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Once upon a time, is how most fairytales start. Then, they end with a happily ever after. But not this story... There once was a prince, who fell in love with a girl. But she wasn't a princess. She was the hand maiden of a nobleman's daughter, who had eyes for the young prince. The prince and girl fell in love, but couldn't be together, for the nobleman's daughter grew jealous when she found out, and ordered them to be killed. This story was called "The Lover's Curse." As it passed down, generation through generation, it became known as only a legend, a myth. But it was true. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ It's up to May and Drew to break the hold destiny has on them, to fight for their own way. Certainly they could trust that those in power ultimately had the best interests of the people in mind, right? ~~~ Luna slouched low in her seat, staring at droplets of water that ran diagonally down the window of the bus. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed. A Ghostly Gang Short Story Collection
Collection of Short Stories that I wrote that involves my original characters from The Ghostly Gang, which is my original creation and character. The picture on the top of this is my art and is of the twins. The story 'The Forgotten Park'-came about from catching the bus to work one morning in the middle of winter just before the sun came up and the mists were rising from the ground and the bus went past one of those parks that every suburb or city seems to have but generally lay forgotten. The others are just random short stories I've written about the Gang. I'll mark this is as complete for now as I haven't written a lot more short stories (mainly some longer ones) about the gang in recent years.
