A shadow passes between two trees as you hear scurrying across the leaves. A wind blows through a curtain of swaying ivy. Flowers fall as a maiden kisses her lover's cheek, only to disappear in the light of dawn. 
Have we really listened to the trees when they rustle in the wind? Or hear the gossip of swallows as they rest in their nests? The woods are dark with secrets, we just haven't really listened to them yet. 
This is a collection of short stories inspired by both human nature and the nature of the Earth in which we live. There is a story behind every crushed bark, gnawed bone, raven's quill, giant's skull, and fallen wreath.
If you like Fantastical Beasts, Grimm's Fairytales, or the Book of Khaidan, this may be for you.

Lily is a sickly 6-year old child, knowing little of the outdoors. She has been sick for most of her short lifetime. One day when her parents have to leave for a very long business trip amidst the pandemic, her grandmother comes to stay, offering her stories to feed her imagination, and calm her anxiety. As they recount the stories, they encounter adventures of different measures and forms. However, the stories can only last for so long, before reality strikes....(what happens? We shall find out).

I am writing mainly for leisure but am seeking to hone my craft with the hopes that my short stories may be published into a book someday. So I appreciate all feedback and comments! :D Will continue to edit the images --- currently working on some illustrations for these -- and if you have any ideas you'd love to suggest pls do share!! &lt;3

Ernwood Forest is home to winged people no bigger than a person's hand. Hidden away from the eyes of all humans, they live within the woodlands in three secrete tribes. Things can be tough in a world so much bigger than you, but the tribes are strong and protect the tiny people against all dangers. Even humans. Three tribes. Only three. That is the truth everyone knows. Until Rosin discovers that what she grew up believing doesn't even scratch the surface of what's out there in the forest. --- Rosin Magnolia hates people. The safe refuge everyone around her calls 'home' feels like a prison to her- so when she learns that there are other tribes somewhere in the forest, the decision to leave is hardly a choice. She makes it her mission to search the woodlands and bring the lost tribes together. But to do that, she'll have to leave her own tribe behind... which means leaving the people she loves most in the world. The forest is rife with predators. Beasts like humans; towering beasts that prowl through the trees without care or concern for the life they might trample. Leaving might just turn out to be a suicide mission. It's one of those, starts in the middle and eventually unravels kind of a story :') (COMPLETED) I moved to peer through the thicket when her arm snaked around mine and she wildly shook her head. "You don't want to-" she whispered and I put my arm on her shoulder reassuringly. "It will be okay." I whispered back as lowly as possible. Her frantic eyes tried to convey her message but there was no option. I had to see, see if I could help. Holding my heart in my throat, I turned my head back and peered through the leaves. It was not okay. ----------------------- At the start of her successful career, Flora Lori is running from a past, and a man, hoping to heal herself with time and distance. But when she takes a long deserved vacation to a remote luxury hotel far away from home, little does she know that her life will be turned upside down by the one man she promised to never look at again. Just recovering from a major betrayal, love is the last thing on the Alpha King's mind, but when a routine errand leaves him questioning all his choices, he sets out to convince the girl he once blamed for everything that he's the one for her, while simultaneously uncovering a sinister plot, that threw them both in this situation in the first place.
