The Lottery has been going on for centuries as a yearly tradition, although it is not what you think it is. No one has ever questioned it's origin, and the winners just except their fate. Until 2024, Ethan Hale was just a normal person, until he got picked for it. See his reaction to it all, and watch as him and his best friend Charlotte Summers figures out the horrifying truth behind the lottery.

(The idea was taken from Shirley Jackson's short story The Lottery. Highly recommended that the reader watches The Lottery to get a better understanding of it. It can be found on YouTube in two separate parts).

With the last few months and the stress of finding what she wants to do with her life, her and her group of friends decide to do something fun. Something they can do over the weekends before they graduate and all go their separate ways. But what is fun at the start, might be the reason it all ends. I guess they do say pictures are worth a thousand words.

After my escape, and yet another but brutal last year at the same high school, my school sent me their condolences and made sure to inform my future college of my past. I didn't bother to say goodbye to my "friends" or Preston, my ex. The police allowed me to change things, including changing my name & hair, but other than that, I was still me. Once I got my new identity, I tried to start anew. Moving me to a new place was the best thing the police and Dr Matthews allowed me to do, but it still didn't stop this nudging feeling that kept coming over me. Well, 13 Points made the Long List. I have no idea how many original entries there were but about 940 made the first cut. There's 150 on the Long List. Not bad for my first time out. Now we'll wait and see how we fare on the Short List. May 30th. Well, Sarah and company didn't make the Short List. I can't say I'm disappointed though. Sometimes a person just stumbles onto something that will dramatically change the way we all live. Through good luck or possibly misfortune, they do something that creates a chain reaction resulting in a whole new world or maybe destroying it. Aaron James was such a person. He had great ideals but the end result could NOT have been worse. Aaron was born in a time, before this present time, somewhere in THE PAST, when the World War went badly for the allies and we lost, when the calendar started not with JC, but from the Song dynasty, around one thousand years later. Aaron was born in the late 20's not 1920 AD but 920 AS (After Song). Aaron found a way to go back in time and he changed things, with the noblest of intentions. These changes made a huge difference, the calendar now started with the birth of JC (or pretty close) and the Allies won the Second World War. THE PRESENT time started out better and that is where we are NOW. The trouble is, sometime in our future, it all goes horribly wrong. Aaron is determined to right the wrongs of his past and tries again to fix things, this time THE FUTURE is a whole lot different. It has not happened yet, but it will happen.
