Twisted Reality

My name is being repeated, the endless loop of a broken record. Everywhere I turn I am greeted by darkness. My voice catches in my throat, preventing me from calling out. The voice sounds pained, in need of help. A scream pierces the atmosphere before fading to silence. I try to run in its direction, but for every step I take, the harder it gets to move. Before long, I become stiff and then paralyzed, unable to move, as if my limbs have slowly solidified. My name is just a whisper now, fading fast.
