The Selection Fan Fiction "I, Clarissa Dossen, will never be free from the cage of other people's choices." Clarissa Dossen is a 17 year old girl sent to The Fraussen Prestige Institute, a boarding school for the rich and famous kids of Sarroine. Her mom has devoted herself to a lifestyle of the utmost leisure and fame; Clarissa's dad, however, is down to earth and kind. In her young country, Sarroine, everyone is labeled. The Prestige are rich and famous, with the Royalty slightly above. The Elite have the wealth of a prestige, but not the fame, and the Modest barely make ends meet. But greatly looked down upon are the Unlabeled. They are such a disgrace to the country that they are ignored. Clarissa believes that these boundaries shouldn't be in place, and when put in a powerful position, she struggles between loyalty to her family and loyalty to her beliefs. What happens when Clarissa realizes she has been selected for a competition she doesn't want to be in? Will she ever want to be a contender in The Selection? Will Prince Alexander win her heart? Labeled follows Clarissa through a tumultuous and romantic journey of self-discovery and development with all the beauty and pomp of the original Selection. Her world is called Sarrione, which is what King Maxon and Queen America re-named the country after dismantling the caste system which their son hastily put back into place through the Labels. They are the current Prince's grandparents. *the idea of the Selection, inspiration for the plot, and the characters of Queen America and King Maxon are not original, all credit goes to Kiera Cass. What if that first rebel never took the red scarf out from behind his back? What if the whole entire attack never happened? What if tragedy never led Maxon and America back to each other? And what if Maxon chose another? America walked out of the Illean palace, heartbroken and mortified, clinging only to the idea that she would go back home and pretend like none of this ever happened. Little did she know that she was going to meet one man on the street who would turn her life upside down. Again. Thrown into the chaos of the northern rebels, America has one job, find the diaries of Gregory Illea before the Southern rebels do. Through a series of attacks, she slips in and out of the one place she thought she would never return to. The quicker she finds those diaries, the sooner she can finally rid herself of the palace and everything in it. Until she slips up...bringing her face to face with Maxon. Over and over again. America wants to move on from him but he wants to fix the mistake that he knows he made. How can America forgive him for ruining both of their lives with a reckless decision? And how can he make her see that in the Palace is where she was always meant to be?
