As Mariel got out of the building, heavy rain suddenly poured. Despite the cold wind and the gloomy atmosphere the rain brought, Mariel was smiling ear to ear as she looked at her professional identification card. It was a sight to see as if the lady was in her own world. Traffic lights turned green and as she took her fourth step on the pedestrian lane, a car with a broken brake hit her body and the car crashed at one of the electric posts. Rain poured and she could feel her blood trickling down from her forehead and back of her head. As if she knew that she's going to die, a smirk could be seen on her face before taking her last breath.
That was what she thought, but turns out she possessed the body of a Duke's daughter from a historical setting world. Mariel, who woke up with her new name Belle Chantae Lenoir, faces a huge headache after waking up.
"I can't believe you actually jump into the lake just to get my attention. Are you that desperate?"
In front of her, an average man mockingly asked her while holding another girl in his arm.

After I suddenly died I possessed the body of what I thought was an extra within a novel. From then on my life was mostly calm, though not fulfilling. Until one day I discovered I wasn't just a background figure; instead I was an insignificant character who'd end up being the villainous Grand Duke's secretary, only to die shortly after being near him! But I had no choice, it was too late to change my fate, so I decided to live as obediently as possible under the orders of the sadist villain. But I still had a plan. Even before the female lead makes her appearance, I will try in every way to make the villain a little more normal, or at least ensure that the two do not meet, so that no one will face a harsh death, including me! And then, after the villain doesn't become obsessed with the female lead and becomes more normal, I will be able to resign and live peacefully. So I just cleared all the suspicions he might have about me in order to not incur his wrath and die like in the novel. * * * "I'll give you a choice." The corner of his lips raised crookedly. Though that smile did not reach his eyes at all. "One, don't resign and stay here forever..." His gaze was enough to unnerve me. She lead a rather tragic life. The black sheep of her family due to her lack of affinity for fire. Her affinity was quite the opposite. Water in fact. Already in a time when women did not really have much political power or rights, she was outcasted by her family despite being of nobility. Still allowed to live in the distant west wing of the massive Grand Duke's manor, she has never eaten a single meal with her family nor extended family, and has spent her loneliness in her books and sword lessons. Although only taught by the head butler and one of the low ranked knights of the family, she was quite bright and if her family would have given her a chance she would have done great things. If only she didn't die at such a young age. Married off to some "hero" of sort that had slayed the Dragon of the North who was terrorizing the land and threatened the kingdom, this hero also had an affinity for fire and held her in disdain like the rest of her family. Suddenly a girl of another world was transported to their world, picked up by this hero and put into his secure care. The pair soon fell for each other despite the hero's marriage, and many believed Laraine got jealous of this girl of mystery, and tried to kill her. This was definitely not true. But because the girl was favored by the temple and kingdom Laraine was quickly arrested and put on trial. You can probably tell what happened to Laraine. But something strange happened the day of her execution. As soon as her decapitated head hit the ground the sky turned blood red and it began to rain fire. No one survived that day. But for some reason time went back, and Laraine was back to being a child, but with no memory of her future. There were select few in her life, however, that remembered her tragedy and now perhaps will take action to prevent it. NOTE: I'M AWARE THERE ARE A LOT OF INCONSISTENCIES.
