The spirit of the black cat book 1: Beginnings of everything

Monica Coventry, a rich and artful lady that everyone admirers and also fears. She is known for taking down many legends. One day at the bar a mysterious man comes to her and asks her to take down the daughter of Mr. Watson, Giselle Watson who could see people's darkest secrets. Coventry accepts but doesn't think about the consequences at all. Giselle finds out about Monica and tells Sage, her friend who knows a little bit of witchcraft because her mother is a witch. Only Giselle and Sage know that. They have to keep it a secret if they want her mother to live.If government found out Sage's mother was a witch they would burn her to death just like her grandmother. Sage tries to summon a good spirit to help Giselle out but she messes up a very important step of that spell. Instead of burning wheat while saying the incantation she burned black grass. The ghost of the black cat was summoned and a disaster starts to take over...
