After The events in the fold, Alina, Mal and the crows are headed to Ketterdam.
Alina starts to notice something odd about Mal's behaviour, she feels like he can somehow read her mind. She doesn't feel safe around him anymore.
And with the Darkling still alive... things only get worse.
