When the mother of a PTSD-strained student dies mysteriously, she not only has to step up and take care of herself and her siblings, but also has to solve the mystery embroiling their lives.

19-year old Carla Davis, labelled as "miss-uptight" by many, just wants to live through her college life inconspicuously, with nothing and no one, besides the endless panic attacks, bothering her.

But as they say what we want is not always what we get. A week to the end of her freshman year, her mother mysteriously dies and she is left with no choice but to return to an alcoholic father and two younger siblings.

The pain is deafening and she can't seem to wrap her head around the findings of the police. Desperate for some answers, she takes a drastic decision, one that would probably change her life forever, to find the culprit responsible for her mother's untimely demise.

Together with a sizzling hot detective plus her own psychological problems, she embarks on a summer full of mysteries yet to be solved.
