It wasn't a question and I was well aware of it. His gifts were never nice,the memory of when he offered me that waiter's hand was still fresh in my mind, I don't think it was ever going to leave.
My fingers found the little ribbon on the small box as I fumbled with it for a moment.
The feelings of his eyes were heavy on my face and I knew he was getting impatient.
'Please be a necklace, please be a necklace' I chanted in my mind.
The air was still and that unsettling feeling I felt earlier was back in the pit of my stomach.
I finally untied the ribbon and with a sharp intake of breath I opened the box.
The unmistakable green eyes of Giovanni De Luca was staring back at me. Dead. Lifeless.
A shrill scream broke me out of my shock, only for me to realize that it came from me.
