“Fuck, it’s cold.” You would think I’d be used to it by now.

Pulling my scarf a little tighter, I take one last drag off my cigarette and flick it to the ground, crushing it underfoot. I watch as it flares for a moment — a fleeting fight for life — before quickly fading to black on the frozen ground. Last one. I had checked all the nearby shops, and there were none left. There wasn’t much of anything left after the looting. Goodbye, old friend.

I give the nearby landscape a quick once over, surveying it as I do every time I come out for a smoke. Snow. Everywhere, snow. With a great sigh, I pull the glove off my right hand, fumbling in my pocket for the photo. Their photo. It’s all I have left. My girls. I stare at it until my hand begins to burn, then gently return it to my pocket, shoving my glove back on roughly. God damn snow.

The black velvet blanket that is the sky has small diamond like stars that shine and illuminate the darkness below. I look through a few shop windows as I walk past but most of them seem to be shut since it's around 11pm. I see a random Starbucks that seems to be new and I shake my head in disappointment. I don't hate Starbucks but it ruins the town's classic atmosphere. After walking a few more minutes down the road I spot my best friend's coffee shop that her family owns. Luckily it's stays open until 12 so I decide to pop in and have a hot chocolate and chat with her for a bit. The warm air takes the redness away from my cheeks and fingertips as I step inside. I look up to see my best friend Nellie instantly spot me. "Hey, Hannah. It's nice to see you here." She wraps her arms around me for a hug and I gladly hug her back while sneakily stealing her body heat. "It's nice to see you too, Nellie." I reply as we pull away from the hug. "I'll get you the usual, then we can sit down and have a chat." She giggles as she begins to prepare two hot chocolates. I take my woolly coat off and I place it on my chair at a four seated table. I look around at the paintings and little nik naks that are placed of classic wooden shelving with a smile plastered on my face. The original fire place and everything else sets a family and home like atmosphere. Nellie then takes a seat across from me and gives me my hot chocolate.

Once upon a time there was this nice and sweet and cute and innocent and... Ahh who are we talking about? That girl is defiantly not me nor will she ever be. I have poise and sneakiness of a cobra. I have killed people, murdered cold blood. But not exactly for fun though. Though, the last memory of the gang I was in was being ripped apart starting from my face. They didn't get far though before I stopped them. After that I am now alone and called the girl with the scars. Not literally. People are too scared to tell me in person. That's how scared much they are scared of me. But I like that they are. But this one guy changes me all around and I end up opening up to him only to get stabbed in the back by him.
