Frequent meetings of the Ganjam district administration are underway to deal with possible storms. The district magistrate has requested that the ripe paddy in the beel be harvested and stored in a safe place as there is a possibility of heavy rains in Ganjam. In addition, fishermen are not allowed to enter the sea.
The evacuation will begin as soon as the school buildings and community halls, including all storm shelters, are ready. Government officials from areas affected by the storm have been present. The NDRF and the Audraff team are fully prepared for the storm. All teams have been instructed to report to the district headquarters by 12 noon today.
