In an attempt to circulate LGBT history, I've written a series of haiku to illustrate the time period where pirates were active in history. In the 1700s, people understood sexuality and gender so differently from how we do today. Historians are often influenced by our modern lens, which in itself is very Victorian in nature, and tend to write out the LGBT community as nonexistent in history despite evidence quite to the contrary. However, pirates were one community where LGBT voices were quite active, and since this is so rarely discussed I will be doing so throughout this project.

I loved her, even if she never knew my name. She was my Ariel, and I know I am her Eric. No matter what she says. #1 in short story on 02/07/18 This beautiful cover was a gift from @Kmbell92! If you somehow haven't yet, please check her out!
