Emily Elsher and Caspian Whitman were never really friends. They grew up on next-door manors, their parents were close friends, and their families had similar wants and ideals for their children's lives, but they were far from similar. Emily was quiet, musical, and fulfilled by the simple things. Caspian was loud, rowdy, and had an unquenchable thirst for adventure. As they grew up it became clear that there was no hope for the two of them to ever become close enough to merge the families, so Emily's family sent her off to a boarding school, and it seemed like they would never see each other again, but when they do things have changed.
