A young filly is just born to run. Her legs would carry her anywhere she needs to go. However, being a newborn, she has many questions and does not fully understand herd life. Vitz, her great sire, is a fierce and strong stallion, and would face many trials to protect his family. Osage, her soft spoken dam, looks on as Vitz takes on another mare. The young filly her herd are in danger of being captured or killed. Humans and mountain lions are everywhere. Her herd becomes paranoid, and the filly scared. Eventually, the humans get the best of them, and the herd is captured. They meet many horses who are kind, but many who are cruel. The filly finds that the humans understand things better than her family, but refuses to like them. When a fire breaks out, she is released with a stallion from the barn. Can she and this stranger survive in this dangerous world?
