This story takes place roughly 1000 years after the invasion of 「ʙʀᴜᴛᴜᴍ」, a large lizard-like beast that has travelled multiple worlds, leaving no traces of life after each one. 

That was when the Gods that Resided in the Heavens sent the 「ꜰᴏʀᴛɪꜱ」, supernatural beings that exceed the capabilities of mortals. They were sent with a single goal ; to destroy and wipe out the 「ʙʀᴜᴛᴜᴍ」once and for all. That was the year 102.

The final battle ended as 「ᴜᴛ 1」, the leader of the 「ꜰᴏʀᴛɪꜱ」, stuck his 「ᴅᴜx ɪᴍᴍᴏʀᴛɪᴀʟɪᴜᴍ」, a spear smithed by the Heavens that is twice a normal human's height, into the heart of the last 「ʙʀᴜᴛᴜᴍ」, ending the 1000 years of death, despair and destruction.

The 「ꜰᴏʀᴛɪꜱ」had completed their mission. They returned to the Heavens in favour of a rest ; but was denied entry at the gate entrance, or 「ᴘᴏʀᴛᴀ ɪɴᴛʀᴏɪᴛᴜꜱ」. As they grew in confusion and uncertainty, a gradient of white and black silhouette greeted them.

That was when they got to know their new mission ; to live among the humans, as Guardian Deities, as well as normal people.
