As an egg, Autumn was cursed. Every three months she must kill the dragon assigned to her by her uncle, or she will die. But two months before she has to kill again, she meets Hopeseeker, a funny, excitable, slightly crazy male Nightwing who means everything to her. They begin to meet in the stolen moments before dawn. But when their secret meetings are discovered, Autumn and her uncle move to the knotted canyon, a canyon so windy it basically goes around in circles. Autumn misses Hopeseeker so much, she decides to run away. When Autumn arrives at the Nightwing home, she is devastated to find that Hopeseeker vanished a week ago, disappearing without a trace. Autumn decides to find Hopeseeker, and his friends and sister, Eclipse join Autumn on her quest to find him. But the time where Autumn must kill again is drawing closer with each passing day. Will she have to kill one of her new friends? Or will she let herself perish?
