Rowan grabs Y/n hand teary eyes, she was leaving for home. she looks back at him confused but see's them about to break down. she quickly hugs them. they hug her as tight as they can, scared she was gonna disappear in front of them.
"why do you have to go? you can live with me and Crowley in the mansion. there's enough room and everything-" she quickly hushes them looks up at Rowan. their lips tremble scared to lose another loved one. Y/n leans in, gently peck on their lips.
"I can't leave my mum Rowan, she's already planned so many things. it would be like when you lost Crowley," she explains cupping their cheeks, Rowan holds her hand giving her a sad look.
"I promise we'll text every day and call every Friday! And while I'm gown you are to take good care of yourself and the estate okay?" Y/n asks them they nod looking away, she grabs their cheeks pulling them down.
"you understand?" she repeats.
"I understand," they say just as Y/n lets go of Rowan's face they pull her in for one last kiss, when they pull away Rowan said seven words that changed Y/n's world.

The village loomed closer and closer, but instead of the usual deathly silence that hung thick in the air when Alexander and Rowan came through, the village was awash with jeering and shouting. Alexander halted and shifted uneasily in the saddle as thoughts of whether this was all meant for him or some other poor soul made his stomach churn painfully. "Mi'lord, none of this is meant for you." Rowan murmured from Alex's left hand side. "They are calling out 'Witch' Rowan, what if they mean to...." Alexander turned his head to Rowan and watched as his friends face paled. "They wouldn't..... Surely to God, they wouldn't....." Rowan asked as a shudder ripped through him and his hands clenched the reigns in a death grip. "I-" Alexander started to say but turned his head at the sound of a terrified female scream. Rowan watched as Alexander kicked his horse into motion, not missing the animalistic growl he let out as the horse raced towards the village. Rowan shot off after Alexander, all the while sending silent prayers to God asking that he protect that girl and forgive his friend. Rowan was no more than six yards behind, but it was too far - he needed to stay close to his friend, he did not know how he would react if they were burning her for her 'crimes'.
