Emily thought she will not be shocked anymore by anything, what could be more shocking when she heard the person who adopted her which are her uncle (her father's younger brother), want to assassinate her after the wedding? She's thinking that for seven years under his wing, why did he think to kill her after her wedding? That's not even makes sense. She's not really even that shock if they want her dead because they don't treat her the way family should.
But of course, twist of fate make her life more shocking than being broken for her family assassination plan. She woke up in a different bed in a different parallel of life but with the same body.
