A story taking place on the edge of a rural 1970's Colorado town; Aurelia and Hunter's love story unfolds as they grow older, realizing the love that they hold for each other is anything but friendship.
Excerpt:
"They had spent all day in the garden planting flowers, watering the wilting ones, and meticulously placing decorative stones around the beds of roses throughout the grass. It was a typical Wednesday in the middle of October, but to Aurelia, it was a beautiful day. And so was every day. The chilly autumn wind swept through her shoulder-length auburn hair as she walked around the large garden, footsteps falling close behind those of the boy she's seen every day for most of her life [...] Aurelia and Hunter had known each other since they were three years old and Hunter's family, the Brooks, had just moved in down the deserted snow-covered road the Rayne's resided on at the edge of town. Aurelia, at three years old, had pointed out a person walking their dog, which turned out to become an invitation for dinner that night, and since that day, their families had never been closer."

This is all so confusing, but in another sense, it's the only thing that makes sense." ~*~ At age ten, Mackenzie Elle Servet didn't think that there was anything with Ashton Jacob Lotest. All the girls in her fifth grade class only talked about him. Mackenzie, who helps her aunt as a cashier, actually talks to Ashton for the first time. He won't stop smiling, and it throws her off.
