Maybe it was because they couldn't see the connections, or maybe because nobody had bothered to ask the question in the first place. Only one hero could sift through the depths of the city and purify it from the insides out. Unfortunately, that hero is unconscious in the hospital with stage four lung cancer. His replacement will have to do.
