In the land of Aldyn, mages are feared. They are seen as living weapons, bombs just waiting to explode. Which, of course, means that every noble needs to get their hands on one. Anya LaSair is a mage for the sleazy Lord Rian. She is feared, but never respected. She dreams of escaping her small village, but she can't leave her family behind. That all changes when she is attacked by a mage named Lorcan who seeks to steal her magic for himself. She is saved by a handsome stranger by the name of Elias who protects her as they flee in search of safety and allies, but along the way, she discovers that Elias harbours many secrets and may not be all he appears to be. Anya soon finds herself caught up in a war that has lasted a thousand years and discovers that her past and her true self may be at heart of finally achieving peace for the ancient Fae kingdoms and the humans. Crown of Iron is a fantasy story inspired by Irish mythology with a POC protagonist, LGBT relationships, magic, and the struggle between one's heart and being the hero the world needs you to be.
